Citicoline, also known as cytidine diphosphate-choline (CDP-Choline) & cytidine 5'-diphosphocholine. It is an intermediate in the generation of phosphatidylcholine from choline. Function
Citicoline can reduce the resistance of blood vessel of brain and accelerate substance metabolism of brain. It also can activate the mechanism of reticular formation of brain stem. It can be used in the therapy of acute craniocerebral trauma and disturbance of consciousness after brain operation.
